Does My Child Need Foot Orthotics?

Does my child need Foot Orthotics?

We know that raising a little one can be a stressful experience for any parent, which may have you wondering, “Does my child need Foot Orthotics?”

Don’t worry, we’re here to set your mind at ease.

Why do we use foot orthotics in children?

It’s simple! The key word is alignment.

Foot Orthotics help to stabilise the ankle, knee, hip and back, helping your little one’s body grow into optimal alignment. Remember – unstable feet can and will create stress on the joints and it is only a matter of time before pain follows.

It’s never too early or too late to have your child assessed.

The arches are fully formed by age 6-7. Once the child gets to this age, arch collapse, flattening or excessive foot pronation begins to happen.

Have a look at your own child when they stand in front of you. Do their feet turn outwards or inwards? Are they flat or bowing? What are their knees doing?

Genetics, sports, weight, height, shoes and activity levels are all factors that need to be considered.
